FAQs

Will my fish benefit from an appointment?

We firmly believe that all pets are entitled to quality veterinary care, and our mission is to extend this idea to our fishy friends. Our veterinarian knows that your fish requires special care, and she has completed extra training in order to best serve your fish’s needs.

Which geographical areas do you service?

We provide services to the following California counties: Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles. You can use this link to check our service map. If you live outside these counties, we suggest using this link from the American Association of Fish Veterinarians to search for a fish vet within your area, or calling 831-278-1081 to check the availability of other aquatic veterinarians in California.

What are your COVID-19 safety protocols?

In these stressful times, we aim to keep you and your family as safe as possible, while still providing quality veterinary care for our fishy friends. Please visit our COVID-19 page for detailed information on our safety protocols.

Do I need to bring my fish to you?

We bring our hospital to you! This is a concierge service we are proud to offer, since we know travel is stressful for your fish. If your fish needs advanced diagnostics, we make arrangements for your fish to be seen either at a brick-and-mortar hospital or with mobile veterinary practices, like Aquatic Veterinary Services.

What can I expect at my appointment?

The short story is that our veterinary team will arrive at your house with their equipment. They will ask you questions about your pet and examine your pet and their setup. Further diagnostics will be performed as needed. At the end of the appointment, you will be emailed a copy of the vet’s report. Payment is required upon appointment completion. Want more details? Please request an appointment for more information.

What services do you offer?

We offer a variety of services, which can be found in detail on our Services page. However, we are unable to bring certain services to you (for example, x-ray). In these cases, we refer your fish to a brick-and-mortar hospital that is equipped with these diagnostics or to a mobile veterinary practice, like Aquatic Veterinary Services.

What will my appointment cost?

We know that you want to provide the best care for your pet, and that financial well-being is at the forefront of many people’s minds. Appointment costs vary based on the type of appointment, travel involved for our vet, and diagnostics performed, among other factors. An estimate will be provided to you prior to your appointment. Please contact us if you are interested in discussing further.
